Control of Telstra

I wonder what will the media write, once the Telstra saga is resolved; apparently Helen Coonan and G.Samuel never seem to look at the TLS share-price; most TLS share-holders wish that they never heard of TLS, and Coonan as well as Samuel probably invest their spare cash in Bank shares. What should be done with TLS:one suggestion, why doesn’t the Government buy out the other Shareholders and place TLS back in public ownership; but if they buy at the current TLS price, it would be daylight robbery, as even with the dividend, very few shareholders would be even on their investment.

Consider if a person bought bank shares when the first lot of TLS shares were sold, the buyers of bank-shares would be miles ahead and the buyers of the second tranche can all cry into their beer, yet nobody seemed to do anything about the exorbitant profits and returns on the equity of the banks.

Here is an example how banks rob their customers: e.g. a small sporting club has a term deposit of $6000.00 at some 5.5% and some $3000.00 in a cheque account and the secretary tries to add an extra $1500.00 to the term deposit, but there is a catch; no moneys can be added to a term deposit before its maturity, and as the minimum term deposit is $5000.00 the club loses some $50.00 in interest on the cash in the cheque account, and the bank can lend the money for maybe 10% or more, and what does Coonan and Samuel do about that; zilch.

Maybe Coonan and Samuel should realize that a public company cannot run a community service, only Governments can do that. I would like to point out that I own TLS shares, although I wish I never did
